Silver Paws for Love

“Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog.”
—Sydney Jeanne Seward

We are very excited about our “Silver Paws for Love” senior pet adoption program! This important partnership with the Sonoma County Animal ServicesRohnert Park Animal Services, Wonder Dog Rescue and Forgotten Felines supports the adoption of senior pets by seniors, placing more of these wonderful hard-to-adopt older pets into loving homes . The Paws for Love Foundation fully subsidizes these adoptions, and we hope to expand into future programs.

“Silver Paws for Love” provides financial assistance to seniors 55 and older who adopt a pet 6 years and older, from participating programs.

Silver Paws for Vets

Hundreds of older pets have found loving homes since Silver Paws for Love was introduced – the success has been heartwarming. Sonoma County Animal Services is our partner in expanding the promotion of senior pet adoptions with our second program: “Silver Paws for Vets.”

Using this program, eligible discharged or retired service men and women of any age will be able to adopt a senior dog or cat aged 6 years and older – and the Paws for Love Foundation will sponsor the adoption fee. These will not be trained service dogs, but shelter dogs and cats longing for a safe and ‘forever’ home…and a special human to love.

Contact Sonoma County Animal Services at 707-565-7100 for more information about Silver Paws for Vets adoptions.
